Carbon reduction group to be set up

semidetached

How much carbon?

A new group is being set up in west London, called a 'Carbon Reduction Action Group' (CRAG).

The aims of carbon reduction groups are to:

  • make us all aware of our personal CO2 footprint
  • find out if it can help us make radical cuts in our personal CO2 emissions
  • help us argue for (or against!) the adoption of similar schemes at a national and/or international level
  • build up solidarity between a growing community of carbon conscious people
  • to share practical lower-carbon-living knowledge and experience

A carbon reduction group consists of people who are prepared to collect a few figures about things such as their electricity consumpion and travel. These are converted to figures for carbon emissions, forming a basis for discussion, and education and thereby for reducing emissions. For more information see short guide (PDF file, 5 pages).

The group is to be based in Chiswick, but anyone in West London is welcome to join. Contact: Ian Duff: iand@belu.org.uk; 07879 880864.
